Installing 5.7.3

I'm on the latest 5.6 and want to get on 5.7. I've downloaded to my laptop and then used ftp to upload to my sites updates folder. It's the same folder that my 5.6 update is in when Concrete5 automatically updated for me. BUT I still don't know why I can't update. It checks for the update but can't seem to see it.

Please help.

You've posted to the "Jobs" which is for hiring someone to help. If you've got a general troubleshooting issue, check out the main forums.

As for moving from 5.6 to 5.7 - there is no planned upgrade path to move to 5.7. You can rebuild your site in 5.7 using a fresh install or stay on 5.6+ which will be supported for a little while longer (and won't stop working suddenly when support does end).

You'll need to replace the core files with the version you overwrote with 5.7 and maybe run the update script again to get back to 5.6.

What about my Vidal theme I purchased a month ago and my ad-ons? Won't I just loose them? Also my site isn't overwritten it's still 5.6 and working just fine. I just wanted to upgrade because all of the data suggests its a good idea.

Best check with Vidal. Unless they build a new version of your theme for 5.7 and agrees to upgrade existing users for free then you will have to purchase a new theme when (if) you rebuild the site in 5.7. (Please don't shoot the messenger)

5.6 is stable, secure and has many, many more add-ons and themes so there is no real hurry to re-build your site in 5.7
