Looking to Hire a C5 Developer

I am looking to hire someone on a per contract basis to do work. If things go well and you are interested, it could turn into a regular part-time job. I am posting this ad here because Concrete5 has quickly become my CMS/Framework of choice - so it only makes sense to try and find someone who already has an in-depth knowledge of C5 development.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate would be advanced in the following skills:
Concrete5, PHP, MySQL, Javascript, AJAX, jQuery

Knowledge in ASP.NET, Ruby on Rails, Java, and other languages and databases would be considered a plus.
Any knowledge in mobile development would also be a plus.

The candidate would also need to be proficient in the basics of HTML and CSS. Most of our front-end development (html / css) is handled by another employee, but a working knowledge would still be required.

Anyone who has experience working with frameworks (Symphony, phpcake, codeigniter, etc) and any APIs would also be preferred.
Any knowledge in server services, setup, maintenance, and security would also be a huge benefit.

TYPE OF WORK:

The type of project we work on range from simple websites to complex software web applications.

COMPENSATION:

This is currently a per contract basis, telecommuting job.
The pay for this position is $20/hr dependent on the skill and speed of the employee. If the employee is particularly efficient I would be willing to increase this to $25/hr.

I am not sure you can find somebody here working for that rate, but I sure wish you good luck.

Btw, you can try your luck on other freelance website, e.g.:http://www.odesk.com

Maybe you're right... but $20 - $25/hr sounds like a great deal to someone who has no job.
Perhaps I need to reword this then.

I don't care if I get billed like a mechanic. By that I mean, I give a project - the contractor gives me an estimate - as long as we both agree then I really don't care how much per hour the person is making.

If I can find someone who will get done in 1hr what would take me 3, then I could pay them $75/hr.

c5 has plenty of developers from countries with a lower income expectation than the usual western countries. To them, such a rate would be quite good.

Just reminded me of "We're just a Continent Away" :)

You’re absolutely correct. Hiring directly from an agency or any freelance websites would be a great advantage not only that they have more freelancers to hire but you’ll get the most qualified ones (with a low salary) through the help of their recruiters. I should say Odesk and Staff.com are great sites to hire web developers.
