need help converting existing site
Permalink
Hi! Really liking the look and feel of Concrete; ) I'm not a designer but need a CMS type website rebuilt for my promotion and marketing - existing site is WordPress and is far too complex for me to easily self-manage. http://www.mikeshepherd.com
I'm ultimately looking for someone to construct a site similar to what i have but on a simpler platform like Concrete which will allow me to easily self-update content. A big factor is whether your platform can accomodate audio and video.
The chief function of my website is to showcase audio and video demos of my work, and enable clients to either listen in real-time via on-site 'player' as well as be able to download such files (as .mp3 or, video .mp4) - i would also like to integrate a Vimeo gallery of video samples.
I would want/need to be able to easily update, change in/out and add-to audio and/or video demos on the site. Other desires are,
a dedicated file upload/download area (FTP) for clients to access work files ..
an easy contact/email page for clients to instantly reach/request info..
an animated 'rotation' of corporate logos of clients i've worked for..
an easy way to update things like 'recent credits' or work highlights.
linkage to other site(s) i would want integrated in this main site - i have a separate site dedicated just to "political voiceovers" for example
(www.candidatesvoice.com)
I am planning to also consolidate and downsize my existing site's number of pages as much of the material was pulled from an older site and is no longer considered essential. My clients chief interest is in hearing my voice work via demos and when they like what they hear, being able to easily contact me.
For an idea of what my business is about and the type of websites that would be similar to mine you can check out the site, ArtistUpgrades.com as well as google 'voiceover talent' - just a very few examples of voice talent sites:
dougturkel.com , billmondy.com , strattonvoiceover.com , thevoiceofbrian.com, among thousands of others. This fellow has a nice page of links to scores of fellow voice artist's sites:
http://www.bobsouer.com (on his blog page - way down at the bottom is a bunch of other talent's links - both main websites and blogsites)
Thanks and feel free to get in touch - I am in Southeast Michigan/NW Ohio btw....
mike@MikeShepherd.com. Ideally i'd love to hear from anyone who has specific experience in designing voiceover talent websites and/or knowledge of my business but browsing the web and checking out my existing site should provide a fairly good sense of what this niche is about. Thanks again!
