Rebuild existing or build new website and add blog linked to website

I have an existing website atwww.www.dougflohrconsulting.com... that I want to update. I recognize that this site has some severe limitations and am am prepared to abandon it.
The only two design elements from the site that I want to keep is the header and the images. If I can keep the graphic this would be a bonus.
I have already redesigned the website using Word. Basically it will be very menu driven with buttons to navigate back to home or other pages.
The site also needs to be interactive with visitors allowing them to easily ask questions or subscribe to future releases.
The site also needs to be visible on the internet. It currently is invisible unless you are looking specifically for me. A little bit of search engine optimization would be nice.
The most important feature I want is the ability to have 100% control over the site to be able to edit text and update content at a moments . notice 24/7.
I want to have a Blog site created and linked to my website.

Lastly, I want all the bells and whistles for social networking.

There are an endless number of companies dedicated to giving you the best possible results in search engines, but there are certainly plenty of things you can be doing yourself. Google has published a search engine optimization guide, which is a good place to start.

There are blog add-ons available in the c5 marketplace, they're easy to install and cover all kinds of things like blogs, forums, social networking tools and eCommerce.
