SSL Configuration Job

Permalink
Hi all,
I have a live C5 site with the ProEvents, ProEvents Bookng and eCommerce add-ons installed. My client is currently using PayPal Standard at the moment so SSL wasn’t essential for the launch. However, my client does want SSL in place.

The SSL certificate is installed on the site and everything was working great except on IE8. On IE8 I’m getting the following message when entering secure sections of the site: "Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?". Once a user clicks “yes” the html renders all wrong/ messed up. See attached Jpg "IE8-screen.jpg".

The SSL is currently turned off within eCommerce settings >>> Order.

Some notes:

**The SSL certificate has been installed on the server for the nistartup.com domain

**within C5 eCommerce >>> Settings >>> Order Settings >>> “Use SSL for Checkout” is currently set to “No”

**Base URL has not been defined in Root/config/site.php - define('BASE_URL', 'https://niupstart.com');
I’ve read that changing line 6 in concrete/startup/url_check.php from $protocol = 'http://'; $protocol = 'https://'; *might* help.. (i haven’t tested this)

**The Force SSL add-on has been installed but is not currently being used

**I tested out the Force SSL add-on on the home page but couldn’t get it working. I threw in the towel and turned off SSL in the eCommerce settings.

The link below outlines the issue I’m experiencing on the site with IE8; it talks through soultions to the problem, albiet for Wordpress:

I’d appreciate it someone could give me a quote for this work and we can take it from there!

Thanks in advance!

Joe

Wish I new more about SSL. That's not my strong point however.

Very nice example of ProEventsBooking though! nicely done!
