Upgrade Concrete 5.6 site to support at least PHP 7.2
Permalink
Hi there, I need someone to help me upgrade a Concrete5 site (version 5.6.3.2) to support at least PHP 7.2. Currently its running on PHP 5.6.
I believe there is an 5.6 release with php 7 support. But Not 100% sure...
I have 4 sites running c5 5.6.4.0 on PHP 7.033. I have not pushed the PHP version beyond that.

There were a few things that needed to be tweaked but I believe that had more to do with the theme that was used rather than the core. It was a few years ago so I can't remember the specifics.
php7.4 is OK for the 5.6.4 core. The rest depends on addons and tweaking addon code where not compatible.
I can do this for you, just send me a PM.
Hello There,
I'd Glad to assist you.
Pm Sent with details, please check.
Thanks and Regards

Hi there,
Thanks for the replies. I have migrated the website to a staging environment to test the upgrade to php7.4. Now whats very strange, on my staging server the site runs without any problems on php 7.4. But on the original server, if I change the php version to 7.2 it doesnt work any more, neither does it load with php 7.4.
What could cause this problem?

"Doesn't work anymore" doesn't give us much info to go on.
Have you checked the server's error logs? Can you install a fresh version of 5.6.4 on the old server?
Differences in php.ini settings, modules loaded/not-loaded are a few things that could cause problems...

I'm collaborating with Mesuva (Ryan Hewitt) on a couple projects and he helped upgrade a handful of sites for me last week... both the PHP and C5 versions.
