Adding phone number to member registration

How do I add a phone number to the member registration form?

Login to the Dashboard
Go to "Attributes" under Members
Add a text attribute (there is no phone number type)
Give your attribute a Handle and a Name and check the box for "Show on Registration Form." and optionally "Require on Registration Form." as well as any of the other checkboxes you would like.
Save the attribute

You should now have another field on your user registration form.
