Member login captcha issue

I have a member registration page with the standard C5 captcha.
However, when I click the field to add the captcha code I also get a dropdown with previous attempts that covers the captcha I am trying to copy.
How can I resolve this?

I would also like the link on successful registration to be linked to a specific page and not the homepage.
How is this done?
