mysqlt: 145 Error

Has anybody ever come across the following error (see photo).

A client said she was just changing a few things on the site on the front end and then got this error on the site. I was able to correct it by repairing the tables in cpanel. Just want to know if there is a way to avoid this in the future.

I suspect this can happen when the server (or mysql) crashes. I don't think there's anything we mere mortals can do to prevent it, but having current back-ups can help with recovery if mysql's rebuild doesn't do it.
