autonav moves content

ive made a pagetype including a autonav on the left side and some content on the rightside of my main content area.
Problem is, that depending on the number of subpages showed in the autonav, the right content block moves further down the page, which destroys my page layout.
Anyone have a sollution for this will be saving my weekend :D

Is it publicly accessible so we can take a look at it? If not, could you post a screen shot?
attached 2 ss . same page type , one with subpages ( and therefore left nav) and one without subpages and therefore no nav
ok i figured it out... the leftnav has to float. otherwise it causes the problem described.
