broken themes
Permalink
hi
A new install of Concrete - purchased Pixel theme, but when its applied the theme breaks. I have tried installing it twice... once with the auto install, another via ftp. same thing.
I have checked permissions, they seem correct.
I have tried other themes and the same result, so its not just this particular theme.
Very disappointed as I thought this was supposed to be fairly easy/seamless to change themes... Is there something I am doing wrong in the server config or set up?
Need some quick help to get back on the road here.

you may need to choose a custom template for the content to look right. depends on the theme and creator.
have you read this:
https://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/themes/pixel/blocks-templates-...
there seems to be a lot of options for this theme.

thanks.
The themes I tried are all ones in the Concrete 5 Theme community, popular/well known ones. So I am somewhat baffled why there would be ANY issues this this big.

Looks like you are using the theme with Elemental default content. Hence seeing stuff designed to work with one theme presented by another theme. When swapping themes you need to be prepared to do any of:
a) Start with a blank site
b) Configure the blocks to use block templates from the theme.
c) Install the theme's sample content which will already be configured to use the theme's templates.

I answered this on the theme discussion area in case anyone faces a similar issue.
