Can't remove "Right Sidebar" page type

I installed my theme, and everything is good, except I can't delete the "Right Sidebar" page type. It lets me go through the actions of deleting it, but doesn't delete.
I've checked my trash and all I have is a home page, and none of the system pages seem to be using this page type.
Any ideas on why it won't delete?

Probably a dumb question, but did you make sure the Home Page is not using the right_sidebar page type?
Could it be an issue with default.php
I had the exact same problem.
Turned out I had to delete all old versions of all pages and I was then able to remove right_sidebar. Remember to also empty the trash.
I actually modified the 'Remove Old Page Versions' job to remove all but one as I couldn't face doing it all manually!
I also found that I had to run this job quite a number of times in succession before it was done doing its thing.

2 - empty your site cache.
3 - Another thing may help, empty your trash even you dont have any pages with that type in the trash.
