Changing Slideshow to Static Image

Hey everyone..
I have poured over these forums looking for an answer to my question.. but alas none has been found. If you can help.. Please do.

I want to change the slideshow box found in plain yogurt to a static image. I have tired removing the slideshow.. but when I went to place a box for a simple image.. it won't let me. I can't seem to find a solution.. so any help is much appreciate.

Thanks,

Phil

Thanks for commenting back, but it didn't work. This is the situation...

I am using the Plain Yogurt theme and I want to replace the included slideshow pics with just a simple 800x192 banner which is the same size as the included pics within the slideshow. I tried deleting the "slideshow" block type, but then I could not get a new block type to go where the slideshow block was originally located (which is between the top "add to header nav" and the "add to header") BTW.. I moved the menu to just below where the slideshow pics are displayed. Hope I am not confusing you. I really do appreciate the help.

Thanks

Phil

Hi Heirbornealien,

You login to Back-end, remove slideshow block and add the image block into the slideshow position.

Please be more explicit and perhaps careful with word choice.

...what does "login to Back-end" mean? I do not see anything called Back-end. Do you mean the Dashboard?

How exactly do you remove the slideshow block? (and add the image block?)

The comment you're responding to is almost a year old -- I don't think he's paying attention anymore :)

What he means is "log into the site". There is some basic documentation about how all this works. I would start here:
http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/general-topics/in-context-ed...

As far as answering your specific problem, you want to log into your site (should be a little link for that at the very bottom of your site -- if not, reply with the URL of your website and I'll give you a specific address to go to for logging in). Once logged in (you should see a toolbar appear at the top of the page that wasn't there before), go to the page that has the slideshow, click the "Edit Page" button in the toolbar at the top of the page, then you should see a red dotted border around most pieces of content on the page. Click on the slideshow, and choose "Delete" from the menu that pops up.

Check out the documentation I linked to above to find out more about adding blocks. For the image you want to add, you're going to want to learn about the File Manager too, which makes things a little more complicated at first but in the long run is a really great tool to have as your site grows bigger.

Hope that helps.
