Deleting Page Type
Permalink
I have a few page types that I can't seem to delete. It keep saying they're in use and/or have versions of pages using the type.
I cleared the trash, ran the automated job that deletes old versions, and looked everywhere.
Is there an easier way to get these page types deleted so we don't use them??

I'll check that out, thanks!
It's not the first time I've run into this in a handful of websites with varying versions. I guess I need to save myself some headaches by making sure we solidify the page types before hand :)

That's hard to do because installing several themes for clients to see and approve is one of concrete5's advantages. In my experience, although the physical Page Type files (e.g. full.php) get deleted when you remove and delete a theme, the references to those deleted Page Types remain in the database so that pages that use those obsolete Page Types revert to using default.php file without any real indication to the user that this has happened. I would like to see concrete5 have the ability to add some additional parameter/flag/tag to the Page Type files that are installed with a theme so that removing a theme also removed it's corresponding Page Types as seen in the Page Edit->Design dialog but this feature is unlikely to be built into 5.6 at this time. I'm not sure if 5.7 keeps track of this or not.
