Editing a theme for further customization
Permalink
Hi there,
I am somewhat of a beginner on here.. I've built one site without coding a thing using concrete 5, although I do have basic html/css knowledge.
I am designing a new site and would just like to expand off of the dark chocolate theme. I'd like to remove/edit the dividing lines that are automatically placed around the header. Do I re-download my files (I've already added some content to the site) or work with the original download? If so, in which files can I change this? Or can I edit the code while being signed into the site...?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Best,
Allie
if it helps, you can view the site beginnings here:

I don't know how much you've examined the theme file in C5 so:
You can find the Main CSS file as well as the images folder by opening concrete5.4.1.1, then "concrete", then "themes", then "dark_chocolate"

Thanks so much! You just connected the dots for me! :)
Glad to help!

You're building a nice clean looking site. Don't forget to add it to the Showcase

that could be edited out.... or.... leave it in and replace the file in the image file with one that matches your theme better.
Using FTP software (Filezilla is free) you can modify the files on your desktop and drag them into the appropriate site folder to update the files. I find using a downloaded copy of Concrete to your desktop is a ready resource for folders.
Remember: Save a copy of the changed files if you are modifying the pre-loaded themes in Concrete. Upgrading version may overwrite your edits.
