Elemental Theme: Change colors and background
Permalink
Hi there
I am very new to concrete5 and have no programming or page building skills. I tried the elemental theme and quickly made progress. So first of all thanks a lot for this great theme.
However I do have a few questions which I couldnt solve yet:
- How can I change the color style of the page? Currently the Page Titles and other stuff such as the bullets of the slide show are green. I didnt find a way to change it.
- How can I use a color or pictures as a background for the whole website or just for a certain section? (i.e. global header)
- How can I add a page container (with different columns, i.e. that I can add pictures and text box on same line) ? So far I just modified existing pages..
- I cant delete some of the preset boxes, ie "Global Header Search". How come?
Im aware that these questions are very basic. So thanks for your patience and for your help in advance :)
Regards Chris

Hi hutman,
thanks a lot for your advice! I installed and activated already Clonemental. It looks exactly the same like Elemental, but I guess there are some changes in the background :)
Thanks also for this guidebook - its a great source. Lots of questions are resolved now. However I still dont know how I can use a picture as a background for a whole page or section (not just blocks, this is clear).

I do not think this is a built-in feature of the Clonemental theme, you would have to do your own custom coding for that.
Oh thats too bad. Funny that you can modify so many things but not something basic like add a picture as background.
I think there is no free theme on the market which would allow that, right?

I think this will do what you want:

As an aside, Cloneamental is intended to be functionally identical to Elemental; the difference is that all relevant code exists within the theme's directory, so you can change things without having to mess with c5's core code.

Sounds indeed like the addon I was looking for. Thanks a lot I'll try it out soon.
