Error when I try to customize a theme

Permalink
I've just installed my first C5 site (moving over from Drupal). I have done almost nothing to it out of the box. My issue is, when ever I try to customize the theme I get the attached error message. I'm doing this in the CMS itself, I haven't touched a thing in the code.

I tried to install a different theme, but the same thing happened. What's the deal, any thoughts?

Hi hakloss,

I have seen similar errors before and the cause was low memory on the server. Are you using a shared hosting account? You will need to contact your host and request that they increase it.

The theme presets use Less which is a compiled CSS preprocessor. I am assuming that low memory prevents the Less from compiling resulting in the error.

Yes, this is a shared host. I'm currently at 1024mb, which seemed adequate. But will certainly try to get an increase.

@hakloss

With shared hosting, you often get less than what is set in the php.ini memory_limit.

As a follow up: my host wouldn't increase my memory on the shared account. I did end up installing C5 on a different, dedicated host and haven't had problems since.
