help with image slideshow in silk theme

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Good morning! I'm completely new to website building and could use a little help.

I installed the silk theme on my website and am having trouble figuring out how to get the slideshow in the header to work. Two questions:

1. Where do I find out what size my images need to be for the slideshow?
2. How do I add my images to the slideshow in this particular theme?

Thank you!

Hi there,

I believe the images nbeed to be 960 x 241. In firefox, if you right click on the slideshow, you can select "view background image". That will show you just the image. You can then right click on that and select "view image info" to see the file dimensions.

If you edit the page the slideshow is on and click on the slideshow, you will see an option to edit. This will tell you where the images are coming from. It's usually a specific FileSet. Just go to the FileManager and click on any images you want added to the slideshow, select sets from the popup ment and add them to the relevant set.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for your quick reply. I understand what you are telling me; however, there is no sample content in what is supposed to be the slideshow content of the theme, so I can't just edit the slideshow the way you have told me. I tried adding a slideshow block, but I can't get it to fit in the specified area of the theme. And, I don't know CSS well enough to change the code. Is there an easy way to resize a block to make it fit in a specified area?

Back again...I figured out how to resize the block to what I need. What I need to know is how to center it in the space that I am setting it. Thanks!
