home.php not working?
Permalink 1 user found helpful
I was under the impression that when creating a c5 theme, the home.php would allow me to customize the look of the main HOME page in C5, but this does not seem to be the case. I need a specific look for the main HOME page that is laid out differently than the other pages. How can I achieve this? How can I tell specific pages to use specific theme.php files in C5?
Thanks!

If you don't see it:
-You may need to click the right arrow which will scroll the page type options.
-You may not have installed and activated a home.php page type in your themes folder.
-You may not have permissions to add that page type. Set your permissions for the entire site by going to the Dashboard and choosing Sitemap. Click on the Home folder and select Permissions. Give the Group you want to be able to add that Page Type all the permissions they need. If you've activated Advanced Permissions in your config file then you may also want to choose Manual and select the drop down box "Currently Viewing" and drop down to Sub-page permissions. There you'll find a list of Groups that can add certain types of pages. Give yourself the rights if necessary.
good luck,
