How to create a theme from Fireworks doc w/o HTML/CSS skills

I have laid out a design for a 1 pg site in Fireworks. I can't find a C5 theme that will work to allow me to put things where I want them to make my design.

I don't know HTML/CSS, and have wasted dozens of hours & $35 on a premium Wordpress theme trying to make it work ... same problem ... I couldn't change enough stuff in the theme to put things where I want them.

Is there an easy way to create a new theme in C5? I've been playing with C5 now for 10 hours or so (the last few days) but I'm getting stuck.

Gave up on WP, then Silverstripe, now frustrated with C5. Can anyone help? I'll keep searching/reading the forum posts related to themes ... but the ones that show how to Concretize a WP theme or an existing HTML/CSS website are too complex for me b/c they involve writing code.

Help please? I've spent probably 50 hours the last 2 months trying to figure out how to build a simple 1 pg website to match (or be similar) to my fireworks design w/o paying a developer. I'm shocked it is so hard still with the internet being as mature as it is.

I've attached an early (rough) version of the wireframe for my 1 page site. the product is new & cannot be disclosed yet - so I've removed references to it etc.

if you don't want to write code the best approach is to use a preexisting theme. Otherwise I'd suggest using something like iweb that allows you to design a website yourself, where c5 uses templates. I'd encourage you to try writing code, It really isn't that complicated.

Have you Googled how to export your fireworks mark-up into html? This should get you started in the right direction. You want to be careful and make sure your 'slices' are saved as background images so you can add content over the top of them.
However, you're crazy if you think you can take advantage of an amazing CMS like Concrete5, using a custom template, without having to apply a few lines of code. The reality is that it doesn't get any easier than Concrete5 when it comes to converting themes and templates for use with it.

We do conversions for pretty cheap. Anywhere from $100.00 to $200.00 depending on the complexity of the theme.

Thanks cannon700 - I may need your help. I've been trying for the last 4 hrs to get my fireworks cs3 to export the html/css ... I must really be doing a lot wrong b/c I've watched tutorials, read help pgs, forums, etc & can't get it to output except for as one large image :)

Maybe I am crazy - but I'm shocked there aren't better (read: easier to use) tools for creating html/css from a layout like I have.

To User 12345: My brother would say that arbitraging CPA ads & media purchases daily "really isn't that complicated" - but he lives it daily & has for 10 yrs. I've worked as a product mngr in the industry for several years & have designed & commissioned several complex websites - I know writing code isn't easy to learn - all good developers I know are constantly learning new stuff - even the pros who've been doing it for 20+ yrs :)

12345: You are right - my website is simple if there ever was one. I was up till 3 last night trying to get fireworks to slice & output correctly, then finally giving up & downloading kompozer & trying to make it work. Hard to get things spaced to where I want them relative to each other, but I learned a ton - thanks for encouraging me ... sorry for the attitude ... just frustrated. Maybe the frustration is what I needed to wean myself off paying programmers after 13 yrs of doing it on venture after venture :)

My reply to the PM just sent to me:

I gave up & hired someone ... they builthttp://www.PowerNapPill.com for me ... but they didn't keep it as simple as I wanted, and didn't use a CMS, so, now I have to pay developers more $ each time I want to change it (unless the change is something simple I can do).

I am exploring odesk.com to get cheaper developers ... I know that if I get the right one, it could save me a bunch of $ & work out well -

Good luck
