how to create drop-down for auto-navi

i create several child pages, but there is no drop-downs in the auto-navi, what should i do to display the child page link?
You should use custom menu , only set auto nav for edit mode.

but one more question, when i add a auto-navi block, i can't do the editing at all, and when i do preview, it shows the auto-navi of the header navi, i want to create my own navi, can i do that?
