Just installed the latest version...problems

Been using 5.4 for a while.

Built my own themes.

Now I have installed the latest version and my themes don't work any more.

What's changed?

- I loose all editor dashboard elements and the page is uneditable.

Great thanks.

But the argument that Google Analytics goes in the footer is wrong. I should be in the header, so...

Anyway working now.

BTW I hate the interface:(

Sorry guys

Stuff like the blue band that pops up in edit mode and covers up my editable areas in the header...GRRRR

From Google

We generally recommend that you place the Google Analytics tracking code immediately before the closing </body> tag of your pages in order to avoid any issues with page loading delays for visitors with slow connection speeds.

The only time they recommend placing it in the head is when
using frames (frames as in you have no body to put in)
If your pages call _link or _linkByPost
If you're using custom JavaScript functions that may conflict with the ga.js file

It's always best to use the google help desk for anything to do with google. SEO web master section is a must have bookmark imo.

A lot of the time people add it to the head so they don't have to add it to every page. The footer does the same, and is in the proper place to avoid elongated load times.

I don't know any of this as an absolute, I just read a lot, and that seems to be how it is, according to google, and the ninjas here.
