Log in to community redirecting to server

I'm building a new website for a client on GoDaddy and initially had installation issues due to the URL requirement. I have managed to get over them but when I access my website and try to access the community to install more themes and add on's, it let me register fine but then it seems to redirect me (in the same window as the log in panel) to a page on my server rather than the community page.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Just to recap, I log in successfully and then a page on the server displays rather than the community.

Currently goDaddy is using a preview DNS setting allowing me to view the site before it is live and also is based on a Linux hosting system just in case any of this matters

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure about GoDaddy preview system but I think with cPanel preview it usually messes up the URL rewriting so you get the homepage but URL's won't work. And I recall changing htaccess does not help that for various reasons.

I'd consider htaccess as a place to look, presuming you're using seo-friendly URL's. But it's more likely the previewing causing issues at this point, I'd turn it live briefly to test that theory or put in a subfolder to test if you can't put it live.

Thanks for the response

Yeah my biggest worry is with the DNS preview. What do you mean by put it in a sub folder?

I'll look into the htaccess file and see what I can find.

By subfolder I mean if your root folder on the server is /public_html/ make a folder /public_html/test/ and then put C5 there. It's just so you can test if the site would work normally outside preview without the public seeing it... I wasn't sure if you already have a live site or not.

Again thanks for the response

I tried moving the folder away from it's original location and the DNS seemed to still have issues. I go in touch with goDaddy and they said 2 things which concerned me, 1. The DNS has problems but in order to resolve it it would have to take the redirect away which would bring the live site down and 2. They don't support outgoing connection which tells me I can't connect to the community using goDaddy. Has anyone else had issues like these?
