Looking for a theme for corporate Intranet

I am looking for suggestions for a corporate intranet theme. I have several hundred pages and will need to have flexibility in navigation with availability top bar and left side bar navigation - I am open for suggestions also to improve the site navigation. Also, need to be able to handle a large volume of PDF and Word Docs for download.
I would like a theme that is easy to change the color schemes and home page images - I change things up on the site based on the seasons.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks - I will keep your addon in mind when I get to that part.
I like the look of growthecurve's addon and I need something similar but I need to be able to add descriptions to the files (and I suspect that you will also need to for an intranet). I haven't been able to find an add on to let me do that as yet, anyone have some ideas?

For an Intranet you might ask him to help you make the title smaller because space at the top of the page is usually at a premium on intranets.

For an ultimately flexible list, there is my Uber List addon. Uber List works with Magic Data to list anything and allows a stack or html fragment to be used as a template for each item listed.
