Mega Menu link to parent page

Hello.

I want the user only to go to a link when choosing subpages on my dropdown menu. If he/she clicks on the "mother page link" nothing should happen.

I tried this solution:http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/themes/businesstheme/questions...
(the last tip on the post)

Nothing happened.

Any clues?

I am using MegaMenu by jb1

This is such a crucial feature that I would use in countless situations.

Sometimes I am able to use a theme and add an add-on such as superfish or megamenu to include the attribute "Don't link in navigation". With my current theme - the Slate theme - this feature will not work.

Others have mentioned that the page redirect add-on with the page selector attribute can solvde this problem. But I can't see how as the parent menu item is supposed to be inert - that is - it doesn't link anywhere.

Watching a user navigate a site page, many will scroll to a dropdown menu and immediately pick an item. Some will try the first link. Ideally, you should be able to save the client time by not having an extra page of content if it isn't required, so don't link that first page in the nav.

Is this what you are trying to achieve? I wish there was a clear solution for it in core.
