Norwegian / danish characters disappearing in navigation and headings
Permalink 3 users found helpful
Hi!
I'm a new user of C5, which I'm using with the "Rigid Light" theme. My site is in Norwegian, so some of the words have the letters æøåÆØÅ in them. These characters work fine in the regular text, but in headings and top navigation they just disappear. What could be wrong?
I have search issues with these charachters too, but I think I'll be able to figure that out from information already availiable in the forum.
Thanks
Sverre

I can't believe how fast you answered! I'll start testing the suggested solution right away.
Thanks!!

No worries. Hope it works for you.
Hi again! This was the solution, thanks! It all works brilliantly now. And thanks for showing me the theme support page. It's very useful.

Sverre
I have the exact same issue on MerchWear-theme by vivid.
So I need another functions.js -file? Or change something in this?

Found this on the Rigid light theme help page-
This theme uses a custom font for the titles and nav. By default, it doesn't support anything but basic latin. To support extended latin and cyrillic characters, it dramatically increases the font file size - which is why it was not included.
If you'd like to include these characters on your site though, download the files here:http://rigid.isitvivid.com/whitney-font.zip...
Included in the zip are font .js files. Extract them and replace them with the files found in /packages/rigidlight/themes/rigidlight/js/
Find the same info at the bottom of this page-http://rigid.isitvivid.com/rigid-light/theme-help...
Hope that helps.
