Own template uploading

I'm using concrete5 CMS in a "developer" directory so not to loose my hosts basic pages. (www.mywebsite.com/developer)
I have creted my own template, coppied the concrete5 default and also downloaded an additional template from the concrete5 store. However the issue I have is that neither my own template, the copy of the concrete5 default or the downloaded template appear in the option for choosing a page type within concrete5, I know I'm doing something wrong but need help to figure out what.

Thanks,

Hi Allen,

Did you download them through the admin Dashboard in Concrete5 or place them in the themes folder yourself?

If they are in the themes folder, but not showing in the Page and Themes section of dashboard, it could be a permissions problem where C5 cannot read them, most FTP clients let you change permissions, so you could look at the permissions for one of the included themes, and then do the same for yours. If that doesn't work, we'll move on from there and try something else.

In answer to your first question I downloaded one from the marketplace, which does show up in the themes list but in my file manager it's not there.
The 'copy' is of the C5 default and my own template files were uploaded to the same directory on the server as C5 default and the 'copy' I simply did it via FTP and they are all on the server side
