Question about page types and updates

I am working with the Slate theme to build several new sites. I wanted to add an html block with social icons from AddThis to every page. So I did that in each of the page types. And, the change displays there.
Unfortunately, that did not update the pages that already exist. Is there a way to make that happen? Or, does doing what I did only work on new pages?

Hi There, It should work for you on all pages, sounds to me like the cache, I would clear your Concrete5 cache and browser cache and see what happens.
From your default page that was edited, did you then select "setup on child pages"?
While in edit mode, hover the changed block and look for this selection at the bottom of the list. This should display a list of pages already in existence that you can apply the changes to.
(Then clear cache :) )

Sorry, best to follow Adreco's advice I read your post wrong, sorry, thought you were placing the code in your themes actual PHP templates.
