quick cost-estimate for a very simply database
Permalink
Hello
I have an extraordinary question: could someone make an unsealed quick cost-estimate for a very simply database with concrete5?
2 comprehensive reports
1) summary over allc clients
2) summary with date, client and planned action
Input masks for creating new data records:
- clientname, address, telephon and 1-2 data fields with drop-boxes
- contact person (for the client) and 4-5 data fields
- (planned) actions: date and a text field
In my opinion, the effort should be 1 or 2 hours, isn’t it?
Thank you verry much!

If you already estimated the time, based on your opinion, I'm going to assume you have the skills and knowledge to do it yourself and so you should be able to price it accurately, shouldn't you?
Hallo,#
I have the experience with MS Access, but I dont't know concrete5.
Therefore: is the estimation makig this little database with Microsoft Access or with concrete5 (the software is aready on the webserver) nearly equal?

Hi,
the answer is: it depends.
Access allows you to write stuff without a line of code but for Concrete5 it is not always the case.
From what you are describing, it might be possible to do it with a new Concrete5 system called Express which could be compared to Access as the database "tables" could be created and populated without writing any code.
On the other hand, the reports you want might require some code depending on the flexibility you require.
So it might be a couple of hours and it could be more.
One thing though is you'd be better served to post this on the job forum as this is a general discussion forum.
