Really like C5 but can't find may free, usable themes that fit me

I was not looking for anything fancy, but just a white background and a layout that does not strain your eyes ...

I tried alot of themes in the market, about 30 or so ... but most see to have bugs, sometimes the nav appears on top of something or gets wrapped etc.

So far I found 3 that I could use, one of them - Yosemite - has a fixed header picture that I can replace by coding some, another - Consensus scrolls the header along as you scroll he page, so I guess the easiest thing is to stick with Greek Yoghurt .

One seems cool - "whitespace" - but it did not install properly ...

I know I'm lazy, it's not that I can't program and fix stuff, it's just that since the C5 experience has been so great, cool and easy except for the theme part - I guess I expected the same here ...

Of course I could BUY a theme but how do I know that it will work better than those I tried, I think it would be very hard to get money back ...

And as I said - I know I' lazy (I'm actually a programmer) but when it comes to this I just expect it to work as sooth as the rest of y C5 experience, and I don't want to tweak because then I might have to do that again and again each new upgrade ...

What do I want with this post - I just want to point to a weak spot as I see it, I might be wrong ... so then enlighten me or flame me :)

I'm just a user who want to share my honest experience and I still haven't decided between Wordpress and C5, just because of this problem ...

If i find a lot of cool themes with WP I might go with that instead but I really don't like it ...

Greek Yogurt is the perfect theme to start out with!! Once you get the hang of the in's and out's of themeing you'll have a much better idea what you're looking for while "shopping" for a theme if you choose!!

C5 is VERY customizable. It can take a bit to realize all the features, but in the end it will be worth sticking with it!!

Search the forums along the way for any help you may need and if you can't find an answer, feel free to post here in the forums. There's almost always someone here to help ;)

Hi There,

The marketplace here is fully curated, so if you buy something and it does not do what its suppose to, or its broken, you are entitled to have a support request answered within 24 hours, and if you get no help you can get a refund, you must abide by the refund policy rules:

http://www.concrete5.org/help/legal/refund-policy/...

You will never be left high and dry with a broken add-on/theme, that is one of the great and unique things about using Concrete5, I personally dont know another CMS that offers those guarantees.

Obviously this guarantee cant be extended to free add-ons/ themes, its developer discretion then as to whether they provide support, but paying for a theme is not so scary here.

Regards

David

Hi, I got tired of trying out free themes and bought the "Heywater" theme, I decided I'll buy ONE and then decide, so far I'm satisfied, it's responsive and all I wanted ... no bugs so far ...
