Rename a purchased theme

I purchased a theme. It then resides in packages. I copy the theme name folder to theme on the root. What else needs to be done? Do you remove the theme from packages altogether? I get database errors if i do this. I have done it successfully in the past but just can't remember.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Thanks

you should be able to keep it in packages, just go to dashboard add functionality. Otherwise copy the folder inside root/packages/themename/themes to root/themes

This is what you are suppose to do whenever you start revising a purchased theme, correct? I was yelled at for changing CSS and other things without renaming the theme. Just want to stay on the up and up in the community.

Thanks for your help

When I go the the dashboard add functionality. It shows that theme installed there but remains the purchased theme name. This is what I am trying to avoid. Does that make sense?

sorry, I thought you meant the handle. Open up the themes controller.php can change the name and description in there to what you want, and then open the description.txt file and edit that too.
