Theme (Black Accents) Not Visible

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hi All,

I installed Black Accents using C5 inside my website. I then uninstalled it inside my website because I couldn't get the 3 column feature to work correctly.

I want to give it another go, but... it is no longer visible when I search for themes using C5 inside my website.

It is visible when I go to themes outside my website (in a browser).

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this resolved?

TIA...

Go to your profile here in concrete5.org, then to your "Projects" page. This is direck link:
http://www.concrete5.org/profile/projects/...
There you can find your site's project page - go in, and use "Add Item to this Project" option, to assign proper license.
Than go to your site, an install it normally in Themes menu in Dashboard.

Hi MC,

I tried to follow your instructions, but they broke down for me at...

"and use "Add Item to this Project" option, to assign proper license."

I couldn't figure out how to do that. I saw Black Accents in the list of Themes and Add Ons, though, and released it. I went back and "purchased" it again (it is free).

My Account -> Licenses says that I that there are 0 Available licenses, 1 License Assigned.

Is the problem that no licenses are available? If so, how can I fix that?

TIA...

Ah, ok, so your license is assigned - I thought that this is the problem. :)
So you should find it in "Extend concrete5" section of your site's Dashboard.
your_site_URL/index.php/dashboard/extend/install/

Is that what you need?

Hi, I see it, but I only see an Edit button, when I click on the Edit button I am given the option to uninstall it.

Where should I go from here?

I also can't find "Add Functionality" or "Extend Concrete5" in my menu.

TIA...

Themes?
index.php/dashboard/pages/themes/

You should have it there ready to activate...

Unfortunately, it isn't there.

Have you tried to uninstall and install it back?

You need to remove it from your packages directory. When you uninstall a package there is an option to move the package contents to the trash directory, if its not selected than the package remains, and your system sees it as deleted. I am not sure if this is always the case or if this acts differently now, but I ran into this a year back or so on 5.4.

To remove it from your packages directory open ftp or your hosts cpanel, and use the file manager there to delete the black accents theme from the packages directory in your concrete5 installation, so something like /public_html/packages/blackaccents

Go back to your site clear cache, and refresh to be on the safe side, and then go to extend concrete5 option in dashboard, and your theme should be waiting there for install, because it's assigned to your project page.

MC, I tried to uninstall it and that led to this problem. Can you give me a quick cookbook uninstall process to follow to make sure I'm doing it right?

Ekko, I did as you say and deleted the Black Accents directory. When I go to Add Functionality, it says that it is installed. When I go to Themes to try and make it my theme, it doesn't show up at all.

If you havent cleared your site cache than do that by going to system & settings, and than in cache & speed options choose clear cache, than refresh your browser. It should now be cleared up.

If not post which version your in.

Thanks - I just did so. Black Accents shows up Extend but not when I click on my themes - so it there isn't an option to make it my default theme. It still doesn't show up when I search for more themes from the C5 website.

Thanks for the troubleshooting help.

Ok so it worked? and your now able to activate the theme by going to your dashboard, and clicking themes under pages & themes, and than activating it ? or. . snapshot attached just in case.

When in extend use the download, and install option there before you can activate.

It also wont show up from searching marketplace from your dashboard, because black accents is assigned to your project page, so C5 sees it as already belonging to your site.

Hi Ekko,

No, it does not show up in Themes. It only shows up in Extend->Install with an Edit button.

maybe deleting the whole thing and stating over is the best approach. Do you have cook book steps to completely delete this theme so I can start fresh?

TIA...

hehe, this is funny situation... :)
So - what's going on, when you click "uninstall"?

I'm not sure how to help you, but maybe try somehing like this:
Click "uninstall", clear cache, release license in concrete5.org's project page, clear cache, delete that theme from packages directory in ftp, clear cache... ;) Check if it vanished from your site's Dashboard. If yes - add license back, and try to install it.

Always you can go on shorter way (not official), and just download that package, go to "themes" folder inside that package, and get your theme's folder "black_accents" that is in that "themes" in package. Change name of that folder to "black_accents_bquick" and upload to your_site/themes by ftp. Then it should be in Themes in Dashboard. Install and activate "Black Accents" in Themes in Dashboard.

Sorry if I made too much mess, but I only try to figure something out for you... :)

Was this solved by re-installing as suggested by Mysterious?

I'm having the same problem with another theme I just purchased. It is there in Packages folder, I can see it in Dashboard where it appears as installed in Add Functionality. But I cannot see it and therefore not activate in when I go to Themes.

Ok, now I'm stuck in this loop by essentially doing what the original poster did: selecting a theme (happened to be Rigid - Light) in the browse themes, found it in my "themes" page, activated it, played with it some, then deleted it. Came back later thinking it was actually better than others I'd tried, could see it in the "installed themes" page, but only option is "edit". It doesn't show up in the "themes" page where the installed themes are activated. I tried deleting the theme package per the directions posted, refreshed several times, finally uninstalled it from the extend C5 page, re-installed it, but it still doesn't show up anywhere that I can activate it. Any more thoughts???
