Themes and addons - compatibility ?

Hello, I am very new to C5 and would like to know which addon will work with which themes. Are addons only for the "basic" theme. I just experienced that a background addon does not work with my chosen theme, thats why I asked. Thanks, help greatly appreciated, Oliver
Most addons are coded to work generically with any theme, so the problem does not arise. It is something we try and anticipate in the PRB when reviewing addons, but we can't cover 100% of the possible variations.
Things like backgrounds are particularly difficult because they need to work with what a theme does internally for a background, so are among the addons most likely to have problems with themes. Usually the fix is either a minor change to the theme css or a minor change to the block template css (perhaps a custom template).
If in doubt, click the 'Get Help' button on the addon's page and ask the addon author, or on the theme's page and ask the theme designer.
If you don't get a response, that tells you something worth knowing about support. If you do get a response, it may help you decide whether to buy or not.
