Hi,
Your site is still running version 5.6.0.2 (its about seven versions/updates old). Updating your site ( from the Dashboard > System & Settings (link to lower left of dashboard) > Backup & Restore and then select Update concrete5 ) may speed things up. Please don't upgrade without backing up your site first.

Thank you for your insight! Unfortunately, it will not even perform a backup. Instead, it stalls out and the screen goes white. Thankfully the whole site doesn't crash with this function, I just have to go back to the dashboard.

Any suggestions? The other things that caused it to crash were "clear cache" and removing unused themes on the site. I had to get Bluehost to restore from the backup files they had (this is very time consuming and I'd like to avoid this again).

This is a real puzzle. Your site doesn't appear to be so resource hungry or large it would shut down like that. Could you see if you can post the site environment info? Its found on the Dashboard's Systems & Settings page.

I was able to upgrade to 5.6.1.2, but it's giving an error message about the php. It has changed the formatting of the Header 1 tag on the site and almost "zooms out" after it loads the site.
On the upside, it definitely speeds up everything.
Any suggestions?

I can imagine that the max execution time is exceeded by those operations. Ive experienced things like that on big sites with a lot of members.

Try talk to your host about that, there should be some error messages about this issue.

My host is Bluehost and I have to wait at least 30 minutes on hold before I ever have the chance to talk to anyone. Is there any other way to get around this?

If you have root access to the server configuration, you could try setting the max execution time to 60 instead of 30 (allow scripts to take 60seconds to execute).

If you're on a shared server, only the bluehost admin will be able to do so. I'd give it a shot to get a backup of the site for upgrading the core.

This won't have anything to do with the errors you mentioned before, just the inability to perform a backup.
