2 Q's – Update image – where to save it instead of re-uploading it & file clear up
Permalink
Hi,
I was wondering if there is a quick way of updating an image?
I am still building my website locally.
1)It I want to make a tweak to an image use the orginal files and save out a version into the them folder and then upload it through the file manager.
For me this is a rather long winded way of tweaking an image. Is there a better way.
2) I am nearly complete and ready to upload my website to a live server. The problem *I fear* is that the package size will be very hefty due to old files and versions, etc. Is there a way to clear this all up and just upload the files/content I am currently using?
Thanks in advance

thanks for the reply.
1) YEah I know I can do that.. I was kind of hoping I could simple save over the top of an old file and the new one would appear on the website. Much like when you create a static website
2)Thanks for the info, this will certainly help. I am curious if C5 stores/caches old duplicates of your image files?
Cheers

To answer #2: you can click on any file in the file manager, choose properties, click the "Versions" tab, then click "delete" next to any old versions you don't want to keep around. I don't think, however, that there's a way to delete old versions of all files at once - you have to do it for each file manually.
