5.7 page types - page templates

I was reading the explanation herehttps://www.concrete5.org/documentation/using-concrete5-7/dashboard/... butI got a bit confused.
The text under 'Getting started..' begint to explain on how to add a Page TYPE and then shows an image of the Page TEMPLATE page (see attached).
I think I understand the difference between Type (i.e. type of content, kind of stuff that's in a page) and Template (=form, how it is arranged in the page). You choose your type and link it to a template. Makes perfect sense.
It seems to me the 'Getting started' text here is a bit mixed up. Making new Page Types is discussed in the relevant chapter (bit earlier).
Am I right or am I missing something?
