Access denied message on internal links

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hi,

I've created a group for editors and given them access to 'Home', the dashboard (minus a few areas like pages and themes) and the filesystem.

Users in that group can edit the homepage and all pages under that as expected, can access the dashboard ok, but when they try to insert a link to another page within the site ("Insert link to page" option at the top of a content block's wysiwyg editor), they get the message "access denied".

Anyone got any ideas why or what to try?

Thanks,

osu

Have you enabled access to the sitemap in permissions?

Hi Jon,

Thanks for your message. I thought I had already given access to the site map, but it turns out I hadn't! That sorted it.

Thanks for your quick response I probably would have been starring blankly at the screen for the rest of the day trying to figure that out :-S

Cheers

No problem - it's amazing how easy it can be to miss the obvious answer when you're actually working on something!

If you could mark my response as the answer, that would be great :)

OK I have given all permission to my Dashboard-->Sitemap on the system pages on the full site map, and the group still cannot add internal links. I am not sure what else is wrong. All the check boxes are check on the Dashboard, Sitemap, and all levels below site map including Full Site map.

When I login as a test user of the group I can see the Sitemap column in my Dashboard but when I click on one of the options it says I do not have permission but all the permissions are checked for that group.

Ok I finally found it, I really need to upgrade my C5 to the newest version, they said permissions are fixed in it.

So you have to go to System Settings-->Task Permissions (under Permissions & Access)

I added the group and changed the radio button to Yes next to the Access Sitemap and Page Search option.

So not logical, I will have to upgrade my C5.
