Add users from database

I'm remaking an existing site and trying to make it work under C5.

This site has a lot of registered users who can visit some private zones that a guest user can't see.

I would like to know if there's a way to 'import' those already registered users and their passwords into C5.

We'd like to be able to import from some of the more popular CMSs out there in the future, like Wordpress, etc... but it's a bit of a ways out.

So I might have to do that import manually, registering all the users one by one?

or have a programmer write a script to do it by hand.
