Adding a download option

I have a free ebook that I am offering, but I don't know how to put it on the website and offer it as a download. Any ideas will be appreciated.

try to upload it with the File Manager in the dashboard and put a link on it in the content.

Do you have a goal, other than offering it for download?

What's wrong with just uploading it to the file manager, then linking to it from your content block? Or using the file block?

Thanks for the info I tried it and it works, but what I would really like to do is put a form(optin box) and when they submit their email address I would send them this free ebook. How can I accomplish this.

There's nothing build specifically for this, but it's not hard. You need to think of the various parts of c5 and how to piece them together.

1. Create a "thanks" page somewhere in your site (make sure it's hidden from the auto-nav with the appropriate attribute) with some text and the download linke.

2. Add a 'form block' somewhere else (like your homepage or maybe to the page type so it's on every page) and create an email address "form". Specify that on submission they are sent to your "thanks" page.

Thanks that worked but I was hoping that after they submitted their email the file would automatically be sent without having to go to another page to click to download. Any suggestions?

If you want to add that extra step, you would have to use something likehttp://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/extended-form/...
