Adding a Page Type that defaults to “Ride Side” no matter if the “Full Width” or another Icon is selected
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to create a page type using Full Width. However, when I select any of the layout icons I end up with a Right Side Bar no matter what I choose and of course including Full Width.

Have viewed the Full Width page type within the same dashboard and it is good. In fact I use the Full Width page type throughout my site. If I add a new page, no problem Full Width shows up. I have viewed the full.php and it is good!

I need to create additional Product Detail page types and require the full width template. It’s there, just won’t show up when selected! Nor will any of the other templates, doesn’t make a difference what you select, it is will only produces a Right Side.
Thanks in advance for any support you can offer!

What are the exact names of the theme template files you're trying to use? And what are the exact handles of every page type listed in Dashboard -> Pages and Themes -> Page Types ?

Jordon, Thanks for your involvement.

I am using the Dark Chocolate theme that was copied into my root theme file and is now called Babylon. The only alterations to the Dark Chocolate theme have been trivial i.e. background added, increased margins added for edit, and header and footer modifications, and a few others. Have had no other related problems.

The page type templates listed in: dashboard -> Pages and Themes -> Page Types are:
Blog Entry: blog_entry, Full Width: full, Left Side Bar: left_sidebar, Product Detail: product_detail, Right Side Bar: right_sidebar

I have added Object Product Detail: object_product_detail (and others), which I have attempted to use Full Width by selecting it in the add process and settings. I have tried other names and handles to create a page type using Full Width with no luck.
While I am in need of adding Full Width, I tried all others and only end up with Right Side.

Can take a page that was generated using a new page type (that has the Right Side) and edit the design to Full Width.

The bottom-line is that Full Width works everywhere else except when I want to add a page type.

Need to create 3 additional page types using Full Width for Product Description Pages that contain the ecommerce product block with different product attributes selected on each (not a problem) but cannot get Full Width to take effect when adding the new page type (always defaults to Right Side).

Thanks much! Tim

Jordon, I Did it!

Could not fix the functionality of the dashboard page style template selection so I copied the full.php and renamed to my new page type templates and added to the theme template. All is well!

Much thanks for your support! Tim

You got it! That's exactly what I was going to suggest. I also just answered another post about the page types / templates confusion, which you might find helpful:
