adding posts

Hi , new to this and stuck
I have a page of "news" which shows posts ... and a timeline down the left side of when posts added. I go to edit page ok roll over list of posts already there which greys out click to give edit which comes up with edit page list .... I want to simply add another post ..
Please help

A page list just feeds in a list of pages from elsewhere in the site. To add a new one you will need to add a new page (probably under the page you are looking at) to the sitemap.
