IS there anyway to turn off advanced permissions?

No, its a one sided method. It cannot be undone. That is the reason it mentions a warning message when you are in Advanced Permission page.

Probably way too late for you, but for others thinking about Advanced Permissions:

I recommend making a backup before switching them on. Not much use in the long term, but it provides a short term way back if you quickly decide you don't like them.
