Alternative Nav for Members Area

I need to be have an alternative Nav for a members area with only those pages accessable to them. The problem is that the Nav area is global which defeats the object of the exercise. Ideas anyone?
Pages with a custom page attribute set to true (or false).
Without template editing:
Links to pages with a specific permission are shown when logged in and available to those who have access or are in the right user group.
Set the permission of those pages to the specific user group.
