Auto insertion meta tag description?

In Concrete5, the meta tag description is always inserted in the source file. No matter if it's empty or adjusted via the c5 page editor.

Is there a way to avoid the insertion of these meta tags? Now I end up with 2 meta tags 'description' because I'm typing them in the source file directly, not in c5.

Yes, this is possible. You need to override the elements/header_required.php file.

So copy it from /concrete/elements/ to /elements and then edit the meta tags.
