Auto-nav background color

Hello everyone!
Can anyone shed some light on how to alter the auto-nav background color? I've searched the forums, but I'm not finding much. The site I need help with is gatheringatfivemedals.org. You'll notice that I cannot get the auto-nav sidebar color to match up with the background color.

Try selecting the block in edit mode and choosing "Design" instead of "Edit" when clicking on the Nav block. If you then choose the "Background" tab there will be a color selector to customize the block.

Is there a similar way to change the color of the auto-nav text? I tried changing its color in the Design tab, but it's still black. I'm new at this, so maybe I'm missing something obvious.
