best way to set this up?

trying to figure out the best way using concrete5 to set up this calendar. willing to buy anything from the marketplace that best suits my needs (i think i may need the "date navigation" or the "calendar" or maybe both.

so, basically i have several different calendars. on the homepage there is an "upcoming events" list which needs to pull the latest 5 events (no matter what calendar its coming from).

then i have a "calendar" listing page which displays all events from all calendars month to month with details on the right. clicking on an event updates the details on the right.

then you can also access the individual calendars. so their is a basic list similar to the homepage but only shows that category. clicking an event brings you to the main calendar list page (above) and shows the details on the right and opens the calendar list to where you are.

fyi, i don't need the classic calendar view. just a event list.

below is how the calendar main page navigation would look:

< (previous month) month 20XX (next month) >
-- event date / title / short desc
-- event date / title / short desc
-- event date / title / short desc

hope this makes sense? let me know asap! i appreciate any help. will even pay for help if i absolutely need to.

the calendar add-on will do most of what you're talking about out of the box.

it lets you have multiple calendars or event groups on one site.

it lets you place a block on the page that pulls from one, or many of those event types.

the only thing it doesnt have is a UI where you see only upcoming events on the left and a AJAX-y detail view on the right. You CAN get the upcomign events in a list, but they link through to detail.

If you'd like us to help you build that UI, it won't take all that long and I'll be happy to talk about it via email: franz at concrete5.org

go watch the screencast for the calendar if you haven't already.
thx
