black picture

Hi, I am a new user and at the end of my patience... lol
I have made a picture of my logo to display in the title area, it is black background and white text, no colour. The title area background is also black but when i view the page (on several devices) i can see the outline of the image, its as if the image is no longer black but grey and looks awful. What am i doing wrong, or not doing?
Also how do i make a given area with a block in it full page width? disabling the grid option doesnt seem to work. Failing that how do add a full width area to the page so i can put a block into it.

all basic stuff, i know, but when you don't know its frustrating....

Can you provide a link to your website? Seeing it would make it easier to give proper direction.

Is your image RGB? or perhaps CMYK?

Is the image a .gif or maybe a weak .png?

Have you tried using a .jpeg.

Can you upload the image for us to see?

Thanks for coming back to me, but i have solved the black picture problem. It wasn't pure black. I was looking at a cached version that was black, hence my confusion.

I am still very much having problems with the editing of baseline5.7.

There are colours that I can't change, i have been through the customize theme menu and changed every blue to red to see what it changes and still i have blue on my nav section. There is no indication of where i can find say the header contact area in the customize theme menu. Very frustrating!
I want the whole site to be full width but can't change areas with content blocks to full width.
Thanks for your patience.....
