Blank Edit Window

I just went to edit a content block on one of the sites I manage, but when I clicked on Edit, the edit window came up and was blank.
I have already opened/closed, logged off/logged back on, cleared the cache, refreshed the database. What else should I try?

Have you had a look at your PHP error logs? They might have some helpful messages ..

When we noticed our theme said it wasn't activated. We tried activating it, but it wouldn't. Next we tried deactivating the theme and reactivating it. that worked!
