Blog issues

Being using the standard blog for a while now, find it pretty good for my needs. But, I'm not 100% happy with "Tags" function, don't think their working correct and my "Archive" links are simply not working - go to click on them, no response!
I put it to a coder I use [off Fiverr, but she is good and has done good work by me], however, she says its a coding issue and beyond her to resolve - I think that's just "code" for, she doesn't want to spend the time etc, fair enough I guess].
So, is this something anyone has encountered please? My thinking is, just to get someone to save the existing blog posts - load a new version of the standard blog - and upload the saved posts - would this work as a work around, it would seem more logical than trying to resolve issues with the existing blog code? Ideas/suggestion on my plan appreciated, please.
OR, just another thought, is there a marketplace add-on I could download, that would overwrite any of the existing coding issues and I could use that as my blog going forward?
Thank you.

Without gaining admin access to your site to dig deeper, I see why you can't click on your links. The Popup Pro block at the bottom of the left sidebar is blocking your access to the archive links. This block has 'position:relative' applied to it. I don't own a copy of Popup Pro so I don't know specifically how to fix that issue but if you temporarily remove that block, you get access to the Archive links.
Unfortunately, this doesn't solve a more serious problem. Your archive links are dead. These links have an extra 'blog-archives' in the URL. Here's what your archive link is for your June, 2014:

Have you actually moved the blog posts you'd like to archive so they're under 'blog-archives' in the sitemap?

Thank you - I'll look into these issues and let you know how I go! Thanks again.
I must still be missing something, I've moved all PRE June 2014 blog posts under the archives in my sitemap and removed the pop-up feature from my blog page. Would you mind please suggesting where I might go from here? Thanks for any help you can offer.
Can you be more specific about the 'coding issues'. What 'standard blog code' are you using? ProBlog, some other blog add-on or just a blog built around the core blog functions.
