Blog Permissions
Permalink
I'm trying to set up a simple permission system so that members of a particular user group ('Bloggers') can add and edit pages of type 'Blog entry', but do nothing else. To allow any editing at all, it seems that the group has to be given 'edit access' in the dashboard's site access. I can then prevent Bloggers from editing most other pages and page types by denying them the ability in the appropriate page settings.
...with one exception: it seems that the home page's editing permission is inextricably linked to the overall site editing permission (perhaps it's even the same setting). This means that I can't prevent bloggers from editing the home page; if I try to do so, they can't edit blog entries either.
Is there a way of allowing users to add/edit blogs but nothing else?
Thanks!

I have this same question. Did you ever find a solution?
No. It could probably be done using 'advanced permissions', but I didn't want to inflict that level of complexity on my customer—especially since there's no going back.
